H.E. Dr. Rania Al-Mashat Participates in 1st High level Steering Committee Meeting on Energy and Hydrogen Cooperation between Egypt and Germany

The Minister of International Cooperation H.E. Dr. Rania A. Al-Mashat participated in the 1st High level Steering Committee Meeting on Energy and Hydrogen Cooperation between the Arab Republic of Egypt and the Federal Republic of Germany. This aims to build on the existing cooperation in renewable energy generation and the declaration of intent signed last November between the two countries.

The Minister of International Cooperation H.E. Dr. Rania A. Al-Mashat said that the “Closing the Gender Gap Accelerator” was established by the Arab Republic of Egypt in partnership with the Ministry of International Cooperation, the World Economic Forum (WEF) and the National Council for Women (NCW). It is the first of its kind in Africa and the Middle East and North Africa region, pointing out that the accelerator aims to bridge gender gaps in the labor market.

Minister of International Cooperation and the United Nations Resident Coordinator Visit the Biyara Primary Health Care Unit in Aswan

H.E. Dr. Rania A. Al-Mashat, Minister of International Cooperation and the United Nations Resident Coordinator, visited the Biyara Primary Health Care Unit in Aswan, to follow up on efforts to support the National Population Strategy and empower women and girls. The visit also includes Major General Ashraf Atiya, Governor of Aswan, Germain Haddad, Assistant Representative of the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), Adviser to the Head of the European Union Delegation on Governance, and representatives of the Ministries of Health and Population, and Youth. The visit featured the efforts made to support the National Population Strategy in Aswan, which was implemented in partnership between the national entities represented by the Ministry of Health and Population and the Ministry of Youth and Sports, and among the international organizations the UNFPA in cooperation with the European Union (EU).

In her second stop during the visit to development programs in Aswan Governorate, H.E. Dr. Rania A. Al-Mashat, Minister of International Cooperation, and Elena Panova, United Nations Resident Coordinator in Egypt, with the participation of Major General Ashraf Atiya, Governor of Aswan, visited the “Strengthening Climate Resilience and Food Security through Livelihood Enhancement and Rural Innovation” project in Aswan, which was implemented within the axis of Women’s Empowerment and Environmental Sustainability & Natural Resource Management in the “United Nations Partnership Development Framework (UNPDF) 2018 - 2022”, in partnership between the national authorities represented by the Ministry of Agriculture and Land Reclamation, the National Council for Women and other bodies In addition to the World Food Program.

H.E. Dr. Rania A. Al-Mashat, Minister of International Cooperation and Resident Coordinator of the United Nations in Egypt, Visited the Al-Raghama School in Kom Ombo where they stressed the coordination & integration between the efforts of UN agencies and national entities to maximize the return from the development cooperation programs implemented.

H.E. Dr. Rania A. Al-Mashat, Minister of International Cooperation, and Elena Panova, UN Resident Coordinator in Egypt, began their visit to Aswan m by reviewing the results of the “Investing in Human Capital in Rural Upper Egypt” at the Al-Raghama, within the field visits being organized as part of the Egypt-UN Partnership Week , to highlight the results of projects implemented under the previous 2018-2022 partnership, and in preparation for United Nations Sustainable Development Cooperation Framework (UNSDCF) 2023 - 2027.

H.E. Dr. Rania A. Al-Mashat, Minister of International Cooperation, concluded her participation and meetings during the activities of the 5th UN Conference on the Least Developed Countries (LDCs) in Doha, Qatar by holding two bilateral meetings with Jin Liqun, President and Chair of the Board of Directors, Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB), and Khalifa Bin Jassem Al-Kuwari, Director General of the Qatar Fund for Development (QFFD), to discuss areas of joint action and to enhance development cooperation efforts.

Dr. Teuea Toatu, Vice President and Minister for Finance of Kiribati, Pamela Coke-Hamilton, Executive Director of International Trade Centre, H.E. Mr. Aurélien Agbenonci, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation of the Republic of Bénin, and H.E. Mr. Francisco André, Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs and Cooperation of Portugal.

Al-Mashat, Minister of International Cooperation met with Diana Janse, State Secretary to Swedish Minister for International Development Cooperation and Foreign Trade, on the sidelines of the 5th United Nations Conference on the Least Developed Countries (LDC), held in Doha, Qatar, from March 5 to 9 March, under the theme "From Potential to Prosperity".

On behalf of H.E. the President of the Arab Republic of Egypt, H.E. President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, H.E. Dr. Rania A. Al-Mashat, Minister of International Cooperation, addressed the Fifth United Nations Conference on the Least Developed Countries, taking place in Doha, Qatar, from 5-9 March, with the participation of world leaders, representatives of the private sector, civil society, parliamentarians and youth to bring forward new ideas, obtain new commitments of support, and stimulate the fulfillment of the commitments agreed through the Doha Programme of Action. The conference is expected to announce specific initiatives and tangible results that will help address the challenges of the least developed countries.

A high-level visit of the Hungarian Prime Minister to the Arab Republic of Egypt was held in the framework of the joint Egyptian-Hungarian Business Forum, where the Minister of International Cooperation and Hungarian Foreign Minister chaired the closing session.

Péter Szijjártó, chaired the closing session of the joint Egyptian-Hungarian Business Forum, which was held yesterday, Tuesday, with the participation of Márton Nagy, Minister of Economic Development, as part of the activities of the high-level visit to the country. Earlier in the day, the Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán met with H.E. the President of the Arab Republic of Egypt, President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, and the joint declaration on the strategic partnership between the two countries was signed, which represents a framework for increasing the level of relations between the two friendly countries.

The Minister of International Cooperation H.E. Dr. Rania A. The event included the participation of H.E Dr. Ali Al-Moselhi, Minister of Supply and Internal Trade; H.E Al-Sayed Al-Qaisar, Minister of Agriculture and Land Reclamation; Michele Quaroni, Ambassador of Italy in Egypt; and representative of the European Union Ambassador, and the session was moderated by Dr. Alaa Ezz, Secretary General of the General Federation of Chambers of Commerce.
