H.E. Dr. Rania Al-Mashat, Minister of International Cooperation and Egypt's Alternate Governor to the New Development Bank (NDB), received H.E. Ms. Dilma Rousseff, President of the New Development Bank (NDB) and former President of Brazil, at the Ministry's headquarters in the New Administrative Capital. They held a bilateral meeting ahead of the inaugural seminar of the bank, scheduled to commence tomorrow, Tuesday. The meeting witnessed discussions on areas of cooperation and opportunities available to enhance mutual economic relations, within the framework of the New Development Bank's strategy to enhance relations with developing countries and emerging economies, as well as national priorities and concerns.

Dr. Rania Al-Mashat, Minister of International Cooperation, held a virtual meeting with Mr. Gert Jan Koopman, Directorate-General Neighbourhood and Enlargement Negotiations (NEAR) Negotiations at the European Commission, within the framework of the close economic relations between Egypt and the European Union. The meeting followed up on the preparations for the investment conference between Egypt and the European Union at the end of this month and the stance regarding the guarantees that the European Union will provide to private sector companies totaling 1.8 billion euros to enhance foreign direct investment in Egypt.

President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, President of the Arab Republic of Egypt, the New Administrative Capital will host, on June 11 and 12, the first international seminar of the New Development Bank (NDB) outside BRICS countries, organized by the New Development Bank in cooperation with the Ministry of International Cooperation, aiming to introduce the bank's operations, enhance ways of cooperation with the government and the private sector, discuss future cooperation opportunities between the founding and new BRICS members, and maximize the benefit of the available cooperation opportunities with the bank in light of the pivotal role played by Egypt in the region, as a nexus for linking the continents of the world, and playing a growing role in the global value chain and trade.
