In implementation of the joint statement issued last November with the participation of 20 development partners and international institutions House of Representatives approves development financing worth €53 million to implement the smart energy project within the energy pillar of the “NWFE” program.
In its plenary session yesterday, the House of Representatives approved Presidential Resolution No. 24 of 2024 regarding the exchange of letters regarding financing the smart energy project within the energy pillar of the national platform of the “NWFE” program, through concessional development financing worth €54 million from the German side, of which €3 million grant, in implementation of the joint statement issued in November 2023, with the participation of 20 development partners, international financial institutions and international alliances, as well as the joint political declaration issued during the COP27 climate conference, between Egypt, Germany and the United States of America, in which the two countries pledged to provide support and assistance to Egypt’s efforts in the green transition and a just transition towards renewable energy.

The Ministers of International Cooperation and Education Meet to Follow up on Implementation of Ongoing Development Cooperation Programs in the Education Sector
The Minister of International Cooperation H.E. Dr. Rania A. Al-Mashat and Minister of Education and Technical Education Dr. Reda Hegazy, held a meeting at the headquarters of the Ministry of International Cooperation, in the New Administrative Capital, to discuss development cooperation programs and international partnerships being implemented with development partners in the field of education, teaching, technical education, and capacity building for teachers.

The Minister of International Cooperation H.E. Dr. Rania Al-Mashat witnessed the signing of a grant agreement between the Japanese Embassy in Cairo and the World Health Organization (WHO), worth $8.3 million, to support the development and meeting the needs of hospitals in the border governorates in Egypt, thus enhancing their ability to provide medical needs and supplies to people in Gaza. This is within the framework of the efforts undertaken by the Egyptian state in coordination with various international partners to confront the humanitarian crisis that the Gaza Strip is going through.

The Minister of International Cooperation H.E. Dr. Rania A. Al-Mashat held a meeting with Sarvesh Suri, Regional Industry Director for Infrastructure and Natural Resources in Africa for the International Finance Corporation (IFC), in the presence of IFC's Director for North Africa and Horn of Africa Sheikh Omar Sylla. This meeting is within the framework of following up on partnership projects with the IFC, which aims to empower the private sector, through concessional development financing and contributions, as well as technical support to various parties, in addition to the IFC’s role as a consultant to the government in implementing the government proposal program.

H.E. Dr. Rania Al-Mashat, Minister of International Cooperation, met with Saida Neghza, President of the General Confederation of Algerian Enterprises (CGEA) which is an independent Algerian organization that represents business owners and includes more than 1,200 representatives from various economic sectors, in light of the role played by the Ministry of International Cooperation to strengthen economic relations with multilateral and bilateral development partners.

Under the umbrella of the Egypt - United Nations Sustainable Development Cooperation Framework (UNSDCF) 2023-2027, and in accordance with the national priorities within Egypt’s Vision 2030, sectoral strategies and presidential initiatives, H.E. Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, Prime Minister, and Mr. Qu Dongyu, Director-General of FAO, witnessed the signing of the new Egypt - FAO Country Programme between Mr. Al-Sayyid Al-Quseir, Minister of Agriculture and Land Reclamation, and Dr. Abdel Hakim Al-Waer, FAO Assistant Director-General, and the regional representative for the Near East and North Africa region. This was also in the presence of H.E. Dr. Rania Al-Mashat, Minister of International Cooperation.

At the conclusion of their visit to Egypt, H.E. Dr. Rania Al-Mashat, Minister of International Cooperation and Governor of Egypt at the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), received representatives of the Bank’s Board of Directors, where the meeting witnessed a review of the results of the visit that lasted over 6 days, and witnessed extensive meetings, visits and consultations of the Board of Directors with representatives of the national entities, private sector, business community, development partners, and civil society. In addition, bank officials inspected a number of projects for which the bank contributed to providing financial and technical support, whether to the private or public sector.

The satellite test was carried out with Chinese grants, and the agreement was signed by H.E. Dr. Rania Al-Mashat, Minister of International Cooperation and Minister of Commerce from the Chinese side.
