During the EBRD Annual Meetings & in a Session With H.E. Dr. Rania A. Al-Mashat, Minister of International Cooperation on Green Cities, A Promotional Film on the Projects implemented in Egypt Within the Green Cities Program

The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) presented a promotional film to highlight the projects that are being implemented in Egypt within the framework of partnership with the bank within the “Green Cities” program, through which the EBRD aims to help cities meet environmental challenges, improve the quality of life, and combat the effects of climate change, through an action plan to be implemented, to shift towards green cities, and to provide green funds for projects to be implemented in various fields; overall it aims to include 100 cities around the world by 2024.

The Minister of International Cooperation and Governor of Egypt at the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) H.E. Dr. Rania A. Al-Mashat, began her participation in the bank’s annual meetings in Samarkand, Uzbekistan, by holding a bilateral discussion with the EBRD President Odile Renaud-Basso on the ongoing partnerships between Egypt and the Bank, and future steps to enhance joint cooperation with regard to the energy pillar within the Country Platform for NWFE program, and to stimulate private sector participation in development through technical support and investments.

With Participation of Development Partners, the Private Sector & Civil Society, H.E. Dr. Rania A. Al-Mashat, Minister of International Cooperation, launches the 4th Evaluation Round of the Global Partnership for Effective Development Cooperation (GPEDC).

H.E. Dr. Rania A. Al-Mashat, Minister of International Cooperation, held a joint multi-stakeholder platform for launching the fourth evaluation round of the Global Partnership for Effective Development Cooperation (GPEDC), through which progress in development cooperation efforts in Egypt is followed up, in cooperation with multilateral and bilateral development partners, representatives of development partners, the private sector and civil society, alongside physical presence and virtual participation, including Elena Panova, the United Nations Resident Coordinator in Egypt, Alessandro Fracassetti, Director of the United Nations Development Program in Egypt, and representatives of the World Bank, the World Health Organization, the French Development Agency, and the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), in addition to the technician team at the Ministry of International Cooperation.

During the Spring Meetings in Washington, the Minister of International Cooperation and Governor of Egypt at the World Bank H.E. Dr. Rania A. Al-Mashat met with Ajay Banga, the US candidate for the presidency of the World Bank. The current president of the bank, David Malpass, is scheduled to leave his position at the end of the bank's fiscal year on June 30, after holding the position for 4 years,
