The Minister of International Cooperation H.E. Dr. Rania A. Al-Mashat, delivered a speech to members of the Executive Board and Senior Management of the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) as part of the activities of the 2nd session of the 13th replenishment consultations held at the IFAD’s headquarters in Italy, to increase capital and mobilize the necessary resources to support the Fund's efforts to promote development. The President of IFAD, Alvaro Lario, invited Al-Mashat to review aspects of the effective partnership between Egypt and the Fund and its role in promoting comprehensive and sustainable rural development, supporting small farmers and motivating member states to inject more resources.

The Minister of International Cooperation H.E. Dr. Rania A. Al-Mashat said that the Country Partnership Document (CPD) with the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) 2023-2027 falls under the umbrella of the United Nations Sustainable Development Cooperation Framework (UNSDCF). The partnership forms cooperation programs with the government in a way that reflects national needs and priorities, specifically in the areas of gender equality and developing the capacities of adolescents and youth. H.E. noted that with the launch of the CPD for national consultations in November 2021, the Ministry of International Cooperation and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs worked side by side with the UNFPA to ensure that the document is consistent with national priorities related to equal opportunities for gender, and empowering youth to accelerate the pace of sustainable development.
