The First Progress Report of the NWFE Program Reviews the Cooperation Efforts between the Government and Development Partners to Support the Country’s Vision of Stimulating Green Hydrogen Investments.
The first progress report of the NWFE Program, the nexus between water, food and energy projects, was launched by the Ministry of International Cooperation, on the occasion of the one-year anniversary of the launch of the NWFE program. It reviewed the cooperation efforts between the government and multilateral and bilateral development partners to support the country’s efforts in stimulating investment in green hydrogen in light of the country’s expansion of renewable and clean energy sources.

The Minister of International Cooperation, H.E. Dr. Rania A. Dr. Rania Al-Mashat, Minister of International Cooperation, held a discussion session with Dr. Majid Al-Qasabi, Saudi Minister of Commerce, at the Ministry’s headquarters in the New Administrative Capital, in the presence of Mr. Osama bin Ahmed Nuqli, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to Egypt, and a number of officials, in light of the visit. Which was carried out by the Saudi Minister of Commerce to Egypt, during which the joint and historical relations between the Arab Republic of Egypt and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia were emphasized, and the keenness to move forward towards more joint cooperation between the two brotherly countries.

The first Progress Report of the NWFE program was issued by the Ministry of International Cooperation on the occasion of the one-year anniversary of the launch of the program. The high level roundtable event featured the highlights of the NWFE program - the nexus between water, food and energy projects- as well as the “NWFE+” program for sustainable transport projects,, with H.E. the Prime Minister Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, relevant ministries, multilateral and bilateral development partners, and representatives of the private sector.

This includes implementing 5 projects: “Adaptation of Crop Production in the Nile Valley and Delta”, “Adaptation of the Northern Delta Affected by Sea Level Rise”, “Enhancing Resilience in Vulnerable Areas”, “Modernizing Irrigation System in Old Agricultural Lands” and “Establish an Early Warning System”

The Ministry of International Cooperation reviewed the results of coordination with multilateral and bilateral development partners and national entities over the past year, with regard to the implementation of water projects within the NWFE program, which includes the implementation of three projects: “Water Desalination of Using Solar Energy”, “Expanding Solar Irrigation Systems” and “Improving Agricultural Climate Resilience by Modernizing Agricultural Practices”. This came in the first progress report issued by the Ministry on the developments of the NWFE program after one year of its launch.

The First Follow-up Report of the NWFE program: $3.2 billion in Total Financial Pledges from Development Partners to Implement the Components of the Energy pillar.
The first follow-up report of the NWFE program, launched by the Ministry of International Cooperation, on the occasion of the one-year anniversary of the launch of the NWFE program, the link between water, food and energy projects, revealed that the total financial pledges from multilateral and bilateral development partners to implement the components of the energy pillar amounted to about $3.2 billion over the course of a year of joint work.
