Al-Mashat, participated in a discussion session on “Investing in the Future” within the activities of the Saudi-Arab-African Economic Conference, which was held in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, with the participation of the Saudi Minister of Investment, Engineer Khalid Al-Falih, and the Minister of Trade and Industry of South Africa Ebrahim Patel.

The Ministers of International Cooperation and Civil Aviation Discuss Ways to Coordinate with Development Partners to Advance Efforts in Support of the Aviation Sector.
The Minister of International Cooperation, H.E. Dr. Rania A. Al-Mashat, and the Minister of Civil Aviation, Lieutenant General Mohamed Abbas Helmy, held a meeting at the headquarters of the Ministry of International Cooperation in the New Administrative Capital, in the presence of the teams and officials of the two ministries, in light of coordination between the two ministries to discuss ways to enhance international partnerships to support the Egyptian state’s vision to develop and increase the capacity of Egyptian airports as well as developing the areas surrounding airports in a way that enhances investments and supports the development vision in the country.

The Minister of International Cooperation, H.E. Dr. Rania A. Al-Mashat, held a high-level consultative session to discuss the new expansions in the projects of the Egypt Network for Integrated Development (ENID) for the period from 2022-2026, in the villages of the Presidential Initiative for the Development of the Egyptian Rural Development “Hayah Karima”, with the participation of the Director Assistant to the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and Administrator of the United Nations Capital Development Fund, Dr. Mourad Wahba, Resident Representative of the UNDP in Egypt, Alessandro Fracassetti, Representative of UN Women in Egypt Christine Arab, Executive Director of the ENID Al-Nidaa Foundation and ENID Director, Dr. Heba Handoussa alongside with representatives of the World Food Programme, the International Labor Organization (ILO), the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), the Embassy of Canada, AlexBank, the American University in Cairo, L'Oréal, Raya Holding, Tetra Pak, and Qalaa Holdings, also participated in the meeting and the Ministry of International Cooperation’s team.

The Ministry of International Cooperation announced the details of the second edition of the Global ClimaTech Run2023 competition, where the first edition was launched within the framework of Egypt’s hosting of COP27 in 2022. The competition aims to stimulate startup companies working in the field of climate action technology from various countries of the world, in partnership with the Ministries of Communications and Information Technology, and the Environment, along with development partners; UNDP, USAID, Microsoft, and the World Bank Group. The second edition of the international competition comes within the framework of preparations for COP28 in the United Arab Emirates

Within the framework of strengthening cooperative relations with Korea and in light of following up on the status of the implemented projects, H.E. Dr. Rania Al-Mashat, Minister of International Cooperation, held a meeting with the Director General of the Korea Economic Development Cooperation Fund responsible for Africa, and a representative of the Export Bank. During the meeting, they noted a representative for Egypt was also appointed to start work next year, working to follow up on the position of the currently implemented projects. They also discussed the achievements to date and their continued progress, as well as future ways of cooperation between Egypt and the Korean Bank in various fields.

The Minister of International Cooperation H.E. Dr. Rania A. The Minister of International Cooperation, H.E. Dr. Rania A. Al-Mashat, held the first high-level coordination meeting to follow up on mobilizing innovative financing tools to finance the energy pillar within the Nexus of Water, Food and Energy platform (NWFE program), which aims to implement renewable energy projects with a capacity of 10GW, at the Ministry’s headquarters in the New Administrative Capital.

Dr. Rania Al-Mashat, the Minister of International Cooperation, stated that the signing of a memorandum of understanding in the field of debt swap between the Ministry of International Cooperation and China International Development Cooperation Agency reflects the strength of the bilateral relations between the two countries, bound by historical ties of friendship that date back to ancient history. She also affirmed the ongoing development of collaborative efforts under the leadership of His Excellency President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi to achieve shared development and benefit from China's experience in development.

During the visit of H.E. Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, the Prime Minister of Egypt, to China to participate in the Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation, Egypt and China signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) in debt swaps for development. The memorandum of understanding was signed by H.E. Dr. Rania A. Al-Mashat, Minister of International Cooperation, and Mr. Luo Zhaohui, Chairman of the China International Development Cooperation Agency (CIDCA), with the aim of exploring new horizons and areas of cooperation, to enhance the comprehensive strategic partnership between the two countries.
