During the Green Food Hub Egypt Conference: H.E. Dr. Rania A. Al-Mashat, Minister of International Cooperation: “Green Food Hub in Egypt” Enhances Food Security Goals, Reduce Waste & Support Sustainable Infrastructure to Improve Value Chains in Partnership with the Private Sector

The Minister of International Cooperation H.E. Dr. Rania A. Al-Mashat participated today, Monday, in the activities of launching the “Green Food Hub Egypt” project, which is implemented by the Ministry of Supply and Internal Trade, in partnership with the Ministry of International Cooperation and the Agence Française de Développement (AFD). This was launched for the first time in Egypt, in the Ismailia Governorate, in the presence of H.E. Dr. Ali Al-Moselhi, Minister of Supply and Internal Trade, Dr. Ibrahim Al-Ashmawy, First Assistant Minister of Supply and Internal Trade and Head of the Internal Trade Development Authority (ITDA) and Clémence Vidal de la Blache, AFD Office Director.

Following the MoU Debt Swap Signing for Development with China: Ministry of International Cooperation: 120 projects have been & are being implemented with bilateral development partners through debt swap programs worth $730 million.

During the visit of H.E. Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, the Prime Minister of Egypt, to China to participate in the Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation, Egypt and China signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) in debt swaps for development. The memorandum of understanding was signed by H.E. Dr. Rania A. Al-Mashat, Minister of International Cooperation, and Mr. Luo Zhaohui, Chairman of the China International Development Cooperation Agency (CIDCA), with the aim of exploring new horizons and areas of cooperation, to enhance the comprehensive strategic partnership between the two countries.

In light of its remarkable experience in debt swap with Germany and Italy. Dr. Rania Al-Mashat, Minister of International Cooperation: “Egypt is the first country to sign a debt swap agreement for development with China International Development Cooperation Agency.”

Dr. Rania Al-Mashat, the Minister of International Cooperation, stated that the signing of a memorandum of understanding in the field of debt swap between the Ministry of International Cooperation and China International Development Cooperation Agency reflects the strength of the bilateral relations between the two countries, bound by historical ties of friendship that date back to ancient history. She also affirmed the ongoing development of collaborative efforts under the leadership of His Excellency President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi to achieve shared development and benefit from China's experience in development.
