The Ministry of International Cooperation: The House of Representatives Approves Grant Agreement on Inclusive Economic Governance Worth $26 million
In its plenary session, the House of Representatives approved the second amendment on the comprehensive economic governance grant agreement between the Arab Republic of Egypt and the United States of America at a value of $26.9 million. This is in light of the joint development cooperation relations between the two countries, and with this, the total grants directed to the comprehensive economic governance program become about $77.5 million.

Minister of International Cooperation H.E. Dr. Rania A. Al-Mashat Participates in the Launch of the Country Climate Development Report (CCDR)
H.E. Dr. Rania A. Al-Mashat, Minister of International Cooperation, said that green transformation and climate action are no longer new concepts, but have rather become entrenched in the goals, strategies and visions of different countries, as well as institutions from the government and private sectors, explaining that Egypt's COP27 presidency reinforced this concept in country. This also coincides with the launch of the National Climate Change Strategy 2050 and its endeavor to enhance green transition efforts and develop Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs).

The Minister of International Cooperation H.E. Dr. Rania A. Al-Mashat participated in the 1st High level Steering Committee Meeting on Energy and Hydrogen Cooperation between the Arab Republic of Egypt and the Federal Republic of Germany. This aims to build on the existing cooperation in renewable energy generation and the declaration of intent signed last November between the two countries.

The Minister of International Cooperation H.E. Dr. Rania A. Al-Mashat said that the “Closing the Gender Gap Accelerator” was established by the Arab Republic of Egypt in partnership with the Ministry of International Cooperation, the World Economic Forum (WEF) and the National Council for Women (NCW). It is the first of its kind in Africa and the Middle East and North Africa region, pointing out that the accelerator aims to bridge gender gaps in the labor market.

H.E. Dr. Rania A. Al-Mashat, Minister of International Cooperation and the United Nations Resident Coordinator, visited the Biyara Primary Health Care Unit in Aswan, to follow up on efforts to support the National Population Strategy and empower women and girls. The visit also includes Major General Ashraf Atiya, Governor of Aswan, Germain Haddad, Assistant Representative of the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), Adviser to the Head of the European Union Delegation on Governance, and representatives of the Ministries of Health and Population, and Youth. The visit featured the efforts made to support the National Population Strategy in Aswan, which was implemented in partnership between the national entities represented by the Ministry of Health and Population and the Ministry of Youth and Sports, and among the international organizations the UNFPA in cooperation with the European Union (EU).

In her second stop during the visit to development programs in Aswan Governorate, H.E. Dr. Rania A. Al-Mashat, Minister of International Cooperation, and Elena Panova, United Nations Resident Coordinator in Egypt, with the participation of Major General Ashraf Atiya, Governor of Aswan, visited the “Strengthening Climate Resilience and Food Security through Livelihood Enhancement and Rural Innovation” project in Aswan, which was implemented within the axis of Women’s Empowerment and Environmental Sustainability & Natural Resource Management in the “United Nations Partnership Development Framework (UNPDF) 2018 - 2022”, in partnership between the national authorities represented by the Ministry of Agriculture and Land Reclamation, the National Council for Women and other bodies In addition to the World Food Program.

The conference is expected to announce specific initiatives and tangible results that will help address the challenges of the least developed countries.
