Objective

The project will connect Cairo, Qalioubiya and Sharqiya governorates with the New Administrative Capital, carry around 60,000 passengers per hour at the speed of up to 120km per hour, save Egypt EGP 2.3 billion ($130 million) in fuel subsidies and vehicle traffic, and cut traffic by 30 percent on the highway. It aims to develop quality, reliable, sustainable and resilient infrastructure to support economic development and human well-being, with a focus on affordable and equitable access for all.
