Dr. Rania Al-Mashat, Minister of International Cooperation, Holds Multiple Bilateral Meetings During the Egyptian-European Investment Conference

• "Al-Mashat" meets with the Vice President of the European Investment Bank and the Global Head of Sovereign Advisory Services at Alvarez & Marsal, and the Deputy Secretary-General of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development.

During the Egyptian-EU Investment Conference, Dr. Rania Al-Mashat, Minister of International Cooperation, held several bilateral meetings with officials from international institutions and development partners, highlighting the ministry's efforts to strengthen partnerships with the international community and promote the country's vision and structural reforms to empower the private sector.

Dr. Rania Al-Mashat, Minister of International Cooperation, met with Gelsomina Vigliotti, EIB Vice President, where both sides discussed areas of mutual cooperation within the framework of the strategic partnership between the Arab Republic of Egypt, the European Commission, and the focus on increasing investments in priority sectors of mutual interest.

The two parties discussed their collaboration in enabling the private sector, with Minister Al-Mashat emphasizing the crucial role played by the European Investment Bank in enabling and supporting the private sector through concessional financing, technical support, and equity investments. They also discussed cooperation in the transport and energy sectors under the "NWFE and NWFE+" program, as well as in healthcare and water treatment.

Gelsomina praised the joint efforts with the Ministry of International Cooperation and relevant parties in Egypt to support and enable the private sector and finance development projects. During the investment conference, agreements were signed for sustainable green industry projects and financing for SPE Capital.

She highlighted the measures taken by the state to enhance economic and structural reforms, which reinforce macroeconomic stability and provide reassurance messages about the future of the Egyptian economy. She also affirmed the bank's commitment to cooperating with Egypt in expanding investments within the framework of projects and sectors of mutual interest, especially in energy, under the European Commission's initiative to expand cooperation with Egypt in this field.

Minister of International Cooperation, Dr. Rania Al-Mashat, also met with Ms. Mary Beth Goodman, Deputy Secretary-General of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD), discussing areas of mutual cooperation and enhancing joint work with the organization through its various programs for knowledge and development experience exchange with different countries. They also discussed efforts by the ministry to strengthen South-South cooperation, trilateral cooperation, and leverage developmental experiences in Egypt, as well as enhancing climate action through the National Platform for the "NWFE" program, linking projects in water, food, and energy, and launching the Sharm El-Sheikh Guide for Fair Financing.

Additionally, Dr. Rania Al-Mashat, Minister of International Cooperation, met with Dr. Reza Baqir, Global Practice Leader of Sovereign Advisory Services at Alvarez & Marsal, in the presence of Mr. Abdalla ElEbiary, Managing Director of Sovereign Investment Services, which provides advisory services to investors worldwide and operates in 39 countries globally. Dr. Baqir commended the convening of the Egyptian-European Investment Conference, emphasizing the importance of the messages announced during the conference that reflect the strong partnership between Egypt and the European Union and the significant investment opportunities available in Egypt. During the meeting, they discussed the company's services in various international markets and explored potential cooperation opportunities in light of the ministry's efforts to promote an investment-friendly climate by strengthening partnerships with the private sector, development partners, and international organizations in Egypt.

The Minister of International Cooperation stressed the structural reforms undertaken by the Egyptian state and the role played by development partners in supporting these reforms through budget support programs and development policy financing to enhance the competitiveness of the Egyptian economy.
