During H.E.'s Dr. Rania A. Al-Mashat’s Speech at the Signing Ceremony of the Annual Work Program with the International Islamic Trade Finance Corporation 2024; Al-Mashat: We are keen to advance channels of joint cooperation with the International Islamic Trade Finance Corporation.

The Minister of International Cooperation, H.E. Dr. Rania A. Al-Mashat affirmed the Egyptian government’s keenness to strengthen and develop all open channels of cooperation with the International Islamic Trade Finance Corporation (ITFC), as an extension of the achievements achieved over the past years, specifically since the launch of the institution’s work in 2008.

This came during H.E.'s speech, which was delivered via video, during the signing ceremony of the ITFC’s annual work program with the Arab Republic of Egypt for the year 2024, in the presence of Engineer Hani Sonbol, President of the ITFC, H.E. Dr. Hala Al-Saeed, Minister of Planning and Economic Development, and Engineer Tarek El-Mulla, Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, Dr. Ali Al-Moselhi, Minister of Supply and Internal Trade, Mr. Ayman Suleiman, CEO of the Sovereign Fund, Mr. Basil Rahmi, CEO of the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Development Agency (MSMEDA), and a number of heads of financial institutions and private sector companies.

Al-Mashat thanked the ITFC  for the pivotal role that the institution plays in driving economic activity at the global level, and its remarkable efforts in enhancing trade exchange, while enabling the institution’s member states to develop the structure of their international trade through its notable support in reaching their needs from the global market, and facilitating the movement of goods to foreign markets.

H.E. explained that the new program represents a new step taken by the Egyptian economy towards resisting the current global challenges, which have had negative effects on the global trade movement, adding that despite the challenges, our economy will continue to develop and the current development process despite the difficult global circumstances, as the current development base of the Egyptian economy has strengthened its ability to resist and overcome challenges in order to continue achieving his main goals is greatly enhanced.

Al-Mashat referred to the efforts made over the past years to achieve the common goals of both the Egyptian government and the ITFC, to continue writing a pioneering success story in our development partnership that began more than 15 years ago.
