Dr. Rania Al-Mashat, Minister of International Cooperation, Accompanies the Prime Ministers of Spain and Belgium during their Visit to the Rafah Crossing

Dr. Rania Al-Mashat, Minister of International Cooperation, accompanied Mr. Pedro Sanchez, Prime Minister of Spain, and Mr. Alexander De Croo, Prime Minister of Belgium, during their visit to the Rafah land crossing, and they were received by Major General Mohamed Abdel Fadil Shousha, Governor of North Sinai, and Egyptian Red Crescent officials. And the United Nations Office for Humanitarian Affairs.

During the visit, the Prime Ministers of Spain and Belgium, and the Minister of International Cooperation, heard from officials of the Egyptian Red Crescent, the United Nations Office for Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA), and civil society organizations, a presentation on the ongoing and intensive efforts that are being made to provide the necessary humanitarian and medical needs of the Palestinians affected by the war in Gaza, and preparations to provide all forms of support until this humanitarian crisis ends.

United Nations officials stressed the continuous coordination by the Egyptian authorities and all concerned parties, at the logistical, medical, and security levels, to ensure the continuation of the aid entry process, to facilitate the work of international organizations, and to cooperate with the Egyptian Red Crescent and civil society organizations to intensify the aid entry process during the humanitarian truce period.

The Prime Ministers of Spain and Belgium held a press conference in front of the Rafah crossing, where they thanked the political leadership in Egypt for their efforts and continued support in trying to end this humanitarian crisis, provide all the needs of the people of the Gaza Strip, and ease the siege imposed on them.

Dr. Rania Al-Mashat, Minister of International Cooperation, affirmed the intensive and continuous efforts around the clock made by Egyptian institutions in cooperation with the United Nations and relevant parties, to ensure the continued entry of humanitarian aid and medical supplies at all levels in order to ensure that aid reaches the Palestinians in the Gaza Strip to alleviate the situation. The brunt of the humanitarian crisis they are experiencing, stressing that the Palestinian issue is in the heart and mind of every Egyptian and that the Egyptian state is sparing no effort to end this crisis.
