H.E. Dr. Rania A. Al-Mashat Meets with the Ministry of International Cooperation’s 2023 Summer Training Program Interns

The Minister of International Cooperation H.E. Dr. Rania A. Al-Mashat met  with the graduates of the 2023 Summer Training Program interns at  the Ministry’s headquarters in the New Administrative Capital. This program is being held for the third year in a row, within the framework of the Ministry’s keenness to invest in students and graduates in economics specializations, teaching them about the latest developments in international cooperation, development financing and economic relations of the Arab Republic of Egypt with multilateral and bilateral development partners.

The program included about 35 students this year, coming from different universities across Egypt, most of which study economics. Over the past 3 years, the Ministry has welcomed over 70 interns in total, exposing students to work with multilateral cooperation, including the work teams of the World Bank, the International Finance Corporation (IFC), the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), the African Development Bank (AfDB), and United Nations (UN)  agencies, as well as the bilateral development cooperation sector, including cooperation with the Americas,  Asia and Europe, and Arab-African cooperation, as well as interns who worked in the Department of Planning, Evaluation and Follow-up of development finance, the Arab Affairs Unit, the Department of Economic Research, and the Department of Digital Transformation, Innovation and Entrepreneurship.

Al-Mashat heard from each of the interns this year on their opinions and questions, as well as listening to what they have learned from their summer training program in an open dialogue. The Minister also reviewed the Ministry’s role and responsibility for developing and strengthening economic relations with multilateral and bilateral development partners, international and regional financing institutions, the United Nations and its affiliated agencies and programs, and following up on the implementation of projects implemented through development financing.
