H.E. Dr. Rania A. Al-Mashat, Minister of Planning and Economic Development and International Cooperation, has arrived in Romania to chair the 4th session of the Egyptian-Romanian Joint Committee on Economic, Scientific, and Technical Cooperation. This visit follows her participation in the Hamburg Sustainability Conference in Germany.
This participation aligns with the ministry’s ongoing efforts to strengthen economic relations with development partners and other countries, while also supporting development initiatives across various sectors.
The 4th session of the Joint Committee aims to advance and enhance bilateral economic relations between Egypt and Romania across all fields, eliminate obstacles hindering progress, and increase mutual investments.
H.E. Dr. Rania Al-Mashat will co-chair the ministerial committee alongside Mr. Ștefan Radu Oprea, Romanian Minister of Economy, Entrepreneurship, and Tourism. Additionally, the minister will hold several bilateral meetings with senior Romanian officials to discuss ways to strengthen joint relations, development priorities for both countries, and shared projects.
The committee’s agenda also includes the Egyptian-Romanian Business Forum, which will gather Egyptian and Romanian business leaders to explore ways to enhance economic cooperation, particularly through the active role of the private sector. Discussions will focus on areas of mutual interest and present investment opportunities in both countries, with a focus on industries such as agricultural manufacturing, food production, healthcare, pharmaceuticals, water, renewable energy, tourism, and information and communications technology (ICT).
