In 2015, the 193 member countries of the United Nations adopted the ‘Transforming our World: the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development’. World leaders agreed to the 17 Global Goals (officially known as the Sustainable Development Goals or SDGs), which focus on addressing the most urgent challenges of our time, including poverty, hunger, economic growth, and climate change. As Ministry of International Cooperation, we focus on local action guided by the goals, working with governments, businesses, civil society and the general public to build a better future for everyone.

The practice of economic diplomacy is becoming more valuable and relevant in the changing global economy today. We focus on innovating and building new models of cooperation to adequately reflect circumstances and pave the way for an inclusive and sustainable future. Our work is defined by the three principles of economic diplomacy: 1) Multi-Stakeholder Platforms 2) ODA SDG Mapping Framework 3) Global Partnerships Narrative.
