In her participation in the 5th United Nations Conference on Least Developed Countries in Doha, H.E. Dr. Rania A. Al-Mashat, Minister of International Cooperation, led a panel discussion on accelerating south-south cooperation and triangular cooperation to support recovery from current challenges, building resilience and accelerating the pace of implementation of the Doha Programme of Action, with the participation of Hon. Dr. Teuea Toatu, Vice President and Minister for Finance of Kiribati, Pamela Coke-Hamilton, Executive Director of International Trade Centre, H.E. Mr. Aurélien Agbenonci, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation of the Republic of Bénin, and H.E. Mr. Francisco André, Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs and Cooperation of Portugal.

On behalf of H.E. the President of the Arab Republic of Egypt, H.E. President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, H.E. Dr. Rania A. Al-Mashat, Minister of International Cooperation, addressed the Fifth United Nations Conference on the Least Developed Countries, taking place in Doha, Qatar, from 5-9 March, with the participation of world leaders, representatives of the private sector, civil society, parliamentarians and youth to bring forward new ideas, obtain new commitments of support, and stimulate the fulfillment of the commitments agreed through the Doha Programme of Action. The conference is expected to announce specific initiatives and tangible results that will help address the challenges of the least developed countries.

Earlier in the day, the Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán met with H.E. the President of the Arab Republic of Egypt, President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, and the joint declaration on the strategic partnership between the two countries was signed, which represents a framework for increasing the level of relations between the two friendly countries.

The Minister of International Cooperation H.E. Dr. Rania A. Al-Mashat participated in the opening session of the "Cairo Food Summit", under the title "Investing in Achieving Efficiency and Sustainability of Agriculture", which is held under the auspices of the Ministries of International Cooperation, Trade and Industry, Agriculture and Land Reclamation, Finance and Internal Trade. The event included the participation of H.E Dr. Ali Al-Moselhi, Minister of Supply and Internal Trade; H.E Al-Sayed Al-Qaisar, Minister of Agriculture and Land Reclamation; Michele Quaroni, Ambassador of Italy in Egypt; and representative of the European Union Ambassador, and the session was moderated by Dr. Alaa Ezz, Secretary General of the General Federation of Chambers of Commerce.

In light of the priority given by the Government of Egypt to develop the healthcare sector and expand universal health coverage for all citizens, H.E. Dr. Rania A. Al-Mashat, Minister of International Cooperation, and Oka Hiroshi, Ambassador of Japan to Egypt, signed letters of mutual assistance to finance the Universal Health Insurance Project worth 44 billion Japanese yen - US$330 million.
