• The October Victories are an epic that manifested the bravery of our armed forces and their dedication to serving the nation and upholding its status.
• We draw inspiration from the spirit of October to stand with our leadership and armed forces at this time to face challenges and continue the path of construction.
H.E. Dr. Rania Al-Mashat, Minister of Planning, Economic Development and International Cooperation, participated as a Guest of Honor in the celebration organized by the Defense Office at the Egyptian Embassy in Brussels on the occasion of the October Victories anniversary. The event was attended by Ambassador Ahmed Abu Zeid, Ambassador of the Arab Republic of Egypt to Belgium, Luxembourg, the European Union, and NATO, representatives from the European Union, NATO, the diplomatic mission, the Egyptian community, and the commercial representation office. This coincided with her participation in the Global Gateway Forum, organized by the European Union in the Belgian capital, Brussels, from October 8 to 10.
The Minister of Planning, Economic Development and International Cooperation delivered a speech during the ceremony, stating, "I am honored to be among you today at this distinguished ceremony where we celebrate the Victory of the Sixth of October, a day that manifests the courage, resilience, and dedication of our Egyptian Armed Forces in serving the nation and upholding its status. Since that historic day, the Armed Forces have not only protected the nation's sovereignty but have also made a significant contribution to the path of national development, social stability, and economic growth. Their unwavering dedication has laid the foundation for Egypt's security, prosperity, and renewed national pride."
Dr. Al-Mashat emphasized that the Sixth of October Victory is not just a military victory, but also reflects resilience and national unity, and the solidarity of all segments of society behind the armed forces to protect the precious land of Egypt.
Minister Al-Mashat noted that the anniversary of the October Victories is an occasion to recall the sacrifices of our armed forces, and to draw inspiration from the spirit of October to stand with our leadership and armed forces at this time to face challenges and continue the path of construction.
Dr. Al-Mashat added that while we celebrate the October Victories, the Egyptian state is determined to move forward in completing construction and development, amidst successive regional and global challenges. In parallel, the government is proceeding with the implementation of economic and structural reforms that contribute to enhancing economic stability, improving the business environment, and increasing efforts to attract investment.
Dr. Al-Mashat reviewed the most prominent results of Egyptian economic growth during the past fiscal year 2024/2025, where the Egyptian economy continued its growth to reach 4.4% by the end of the year, driven by the positive development in the non-petroleum manufacturing sector, tourism, and communications and information technology. She highlighted that the government is working on implementing “Egypt’s Narrative for Economic Development," which is a new economic reform program that is not limited to the financial axis but includes real economy sectors and a timetable for implementing accompanying structural reforms.
Dr. Al-Mashat pointed to the Strategic and Comprehensive Partnership Agreement between Egypt and the European Union, signed in March 2024, which represents a prominent milestone in the path of joint cooperation to support shared priorities including: strengthening political relations, economic stability, investment and trade, migration management, security cooperation, and human-oriented initiatives in the fields of education and skills development.
