The Ministry of Planning, Economic Development, and International Cooperation has launched Progress Report No. 2 on the latest developments in the implementation of the Country Platform for the "NWFE" Program, for the nexus of water, food, and energy, as well as sustainable transport. This was presented at a high-level event under the patronage and presence of H.E. Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, Prime Minister. The event was attended by ministers, heads of international funding organizations, ambassadors, private sector representatives, and members of the House of Representatives.
The 2nd progress report includes the results of the implementation of projects in the energy pillar after two years of the program’s launch, efforts to mobilize climate investments, and innovative financing mechanisms, as well as developments in the technical qualification of water, food, and energy projects.
The Ministry of Planning, Economic Development, and International Cooperation launched the "NWFE" Program in July 2022, which was adopted as an Egyptian initiative under the presidency of the COP27 Climate Conference. Over the past two years, the program has received significant international support and praise, being recognized as a model for country platforms in the field of climate action.
