The activities of the 3rd session of the Egyptian-Tajik Joint Committee for Economic, Scientific, and Technical Cooperation at the expert level were launched in the Tajik capital, Dushanbe.
This is part of the Ministry's efforts to strengthen economic relations with development partners and friendly and brotherly countries, and to enhance development efforts across various fields.
This comes in preparation for the Ministerial Committee Meeting headed by the Egyptian Ministry of Planning and Economic Development and International Cooperation, and the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade of Tajikistan.
The expert-level meetings discuss areas of mutual interest, within the framework of Egypt's keenness to enhancing bilateral relations with Tajikistan, particularly in the fields of economic, scientific, and technical cooperation. This session aims to promote and develop the economic relations between the two countries across all areas, remove any obstacles hindering their growth, and increase mutual investments.
H.E. Dr. Rania A. Al-Mashat, Minister of Planning and Economic Development and International Cooperation, explained that the joint committee between the two countries aims to strengthen economic relations and elevate them to the level of the aspirations of both countries, as well as to promote cultural and scientific relations.
H.E. Dr. Al-Mashat emphasized that Egypt is keen, through joint committees with sisterly and friendly countries, to establish clear frameworks for bilateral cooperation and achieve shared interests at various levels.
Representatives from Egypt's Ministries of Agriculture, Electricity and Renewable Energy, the General Authority for Investment, Youth and Sports, Supply and Internal Trade, the Egyptian Drug Authority, and Higher Education participated in the meeting, along with their counterparts from Tajikistan, including representatives from the Ministries of Foreign Affairs, Industry and New Technologies, Customs, Tourism, Investment, and Youth and Sports.
The Ministerial Committee, chaired by H.E. Dr. Rania A. Al-Mashat, Minister of Planning, Economic Development and International Cooperation, and Mr. Zavqizoda Zavqi Amin, Minister of Economic Development and Trade of Tajikistan, is scheduled to convene tomorrow, Wednesday.
H.E. Minister Al-Mashat will also hold a number of bilateral meetings with senior officials from Tajikistan to discuss ways to strengthen joint relations and explore development priorities for both countries.
As part of efforts to develop relations between the private sectors of the Arab Republic of Egypt and the Republic of Tajikistan, the agenda of the 3rd session includes the Egyptian-Tajik Business Forum. The forum will be attended by a number of Egyptian and Tajik businessmen, during which all possible avenues to increase economic cooperation between the two countries through the active role of the private sector will be discussed. The forum will also explore areas of mutual interest, present investment opportunities in both countries, particularly in industries such as manufacturing, construction, agriculture, food production, pharmaceuticals, and tourism.
The Ministry of Planning and Economic Development and International Cooperation continues its efforts within the framework of the Egyptian government's program to develop and strengthen economic relations with multilateral and bilateral development partners. The Ministry oversees 54 joint committees between Egypt and other countries, including 30 European committees. These committees are vital mechanisms for strengthening Egypt's economic relations at both bilateral and multilateral levels.
