Objective

The project aims to enhance the planning methods and tools which are adopted by the Government of Egypt in order to produce Strategic Urban Plans targeting secondary urban settlements of a special nature in Egypt which respond to local priorities in an efficient and realistic manner. Specific development enhancement tools have been designed to suit the unique character of these cities, focusing on their larger and more effective territorial context. The project will partner with government in order to provide technical and policy support, in addition to strengthening the technical capacities of the national/territorial Urban Observatory Network. Additionally, the project will provide pilot implementation to apply best models and practices to priority areas.
