Objective

The overall objective of this project is to reduce congestion and improve accessibility for a large section of the population living in the Cairo Metropolitan Area. It aims at establishing a 42 km Western Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) corridor from Giza to 6th of October, while building the capacity of the public sector for planning and development of modern public transport systems integrated with better facilities for walking and cycling. The aim is to enhance governmental capacities to be able to develop business, institutional, and financial models and have the adequate capacity and tools to procure services to design and build the BRT system and manage its operations.
