E-ICF Launches, Alongside H.E. Dr. Mostafa Madbouly

Engaging For Impact

The first edition of the Egypt – International Cooperation Forum, organized by the Ministry of International Cooperation and held under the patronage of H.E. Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, the President of the Arab Republic of Egypt, was launched this morning, with the participation of Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, Egypt’s Prime Minister, alongside the Ministers of International Cooperation, Health, Manpower, Local Development, Supply, Education, Planning, Environment, Information and Communications Technology, Transportation, Social Solidarity, Agriculture, Industry and Trade. The forum is attended by high-level government representatives and policymakers from Africa, Europe, and Latin America, along with leaders of international and regional financial institutions and representatives from the private sector and the civil society. The forum is held under the theme “Engaging for Impact”, and it brings together relevant stakeholders to promote joint action with the aim of supporting the 2030 United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), in addition to mobilizing international efforts to address global challenges as the world recovers from the COVID-19 pandemic. Across today’s four panels, the forum will discuss multilateralism and international cooperation post-pandemic, accelerating development cooperation towards the 2030 agenda, private sector engagement’s pivotal role in progress, and the challenges and opportunities witnessed by developing countries in the green transformation. This will be followed by a dialogue with the private sector on inclusive partnerships. The forum's activities will also include 6 workshops, organized by the Ministry of International Cooperation, along with a myriad of international institutions, tomorrow. Among many of the topics during the workshops will be a discussion reviewing international experiences in the field of development cooperation, including the Egyptian experience in mapping the Official Development Assistance (ODA) to the SDGs. The Egypt – ICF will conclude its activities tomorrow with a closing panel titled “Investing in Human Capital” and will witness the launch of the Cairo Communiqué to lay down a list of recommendations coming out from Egypt and the ICF, put together by the Ministry of International Cooperation and its development partners.
