Dr. Rania Al-Mashat, Minister of Planning, Economic Development, and International Cooperation, met with Dr. Ashraf Sobhy, Minister of Youth and Sports, to discuss ways to strengthen cooperation between the two ministries across various youth and sports-related areas, in line with the State’s approach to achieving integration across its institutions.
The meeting addressed the progress of projects under the investment plan of the Ministry of Youth and Sports, and ensuring optimal utilization of allocated resources in a way that supports youth and sports infrastructure, while implementing sustainable developmental programs and initiatives.
For her part, Dr. Rania Al-Mashat affirmed that plans for developing the youth and sports sector focus on providing full support for youth activities at all levels, fostering creative and innovative skills, discovering and nurturing talent, and enhancing Egypt’s participation in international championships. She highlighted the targets of the youth and sports sector under the 2025/2026 plan, which include 185 youth projects with total estimated investments of EGP 625 million, alongside 175 sports projects with proposed investments of EGP 627 million.
The Minister also reviewed the key pillars of “Egypt’s Narrative for Economic Development: Reforms for Growth, Jobs & Resilience,” launched by the government on September 7. The Narrative aims to integrate Egypt’s Vision 2030 with the Government Action Program, and serves as an overarching framework for national strategies, providing a roadmap for Egypt’s economy to transition toward higher-productivity sectors.
She further referred to the role of the Ministry of Planning, Economic Development, and International Cooperation in monitoring the implementation of the economic and social development plan through the national monitoring and evaluation system, “Adaa” (Performance System). The system seeks to ensure the achievement of strategic objectives, address challenges, and measure the impact of development programs through defined performance indicators.
For his part, Dr. Ashraf Sobhy emphasized that the Ministry of Youth and Sports is keen to maintain continuous coordination with the Ministry of Planning, Economic Development, and International Cooperation to follow up on the implementation of ongoing investment projects. This, he noted, contributes positively to upgrading youth and sports facilities and providing better services to young people. He added that this cooperation ensures timely completion and achieves the highest efficiency in execution.
