H.E. Dr. Rania Al-Mashat, Minister of Planning, Economic Development, and International Cooperation and Egypt’s Governor at the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), arrived in London to participate in the 34th Annual Meeting and Business Forum of the EBRD for 2025, taking place from May 13 to 15 under the theme “Expanding Horizons, Enduring Strengths,” with wide participation from heads of state and government, decision-makers, and representatives of international organizations.
Dr. Al-Mashat's agenda is set to be filled with various events and bilateral meetings. She will also take part in the Meeting of the Board of Governors and will present the efforts undertaken by the Egyptian government over the past months to enhance macroeconomic stability and advance economic and structural reforms.
This year’s annual meetings of the EBRD will address key topics including economic transformation, strengthening the role of the private sector, sustainability, and mobilizing private capital for investment in development.
The Bank is also working to expand its operations into Sub-Saharan Africa, while finalizing a new strategic and capital framework for the next five years.
It is worth noting that earlier this month, the Minister received Ms. Odile Renaud-Basso, EBRD President, during her visit to Egypt. Ms. Renaud-Basso also met with Prime Minister Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, and intensive discussions were held regarding ongoing cooperation between the two sides, efforts to empower the private sector, and advancing the green transition in Egypt.
