The Minister of International Cooperation, H.E. Dr. Rania A. Al-Mashat, Announces that Egypt has Signed a Letter of Intent to Join the BESS of the GEAPP During H.E.’s Participation at COP28 in Dubai
During the activities of the United Nations Climate Conference COP28 in the United Arab Emirates, the Arab Republic of Egypt joined the Battery Energy Storage Systems Alliance (BESS), which is one of the main initiatives of the Global Energy Alliance for People and Planet (GEAPP), bringing the number of joining countries to 10 countries, as the letter of intent was signed by the Minister of International Cooperation, H.E. Dr. Rania. A. Al-Mashat, and the Minister of Electricity and Renewable Energy, H.E. Dr. Muhammad Shaker Al-Marqabi.

The Minister of International Cooperation, H.E. Dr. Rania A. Al-Mashat, in the presence of the Prime Minister of Norway, Participates in the Signing Activities of 3 projects between the Norwegian Company SCATEC, the Suez Canal Economic Authority, and Development Partners to Implement the Projects in Light of Egypt’s Efforts to Push the Transition to a Green economy within the Activities of COP28 in Dubai
The Minister of International Cooperation, H.E. Dr. Rania A. Al-Mashat, participated in the signing activities of a number of partnerships between government agencies represented by the Ministry of Electricity and Renewable Energy, the Suez Canal Economic Authority, and the Norwegian company SCATEC, with the participation of international financing institutions, including the African Development Bank (AfDB) and the British Finance Corporation, to implement 3 vital projects in light of the national efforts for green transformation.

The Minister of International Cooperation, H.E. Dr. Rania A. Al-Mashat, signed a letter of intent for the Arab Republic of Egypt to join the Blue Partnership Agreement, which enhances the benefit of financing opportunities for blue economy projects, during the activities of the United Nations Climate Conference COP28 held in the United Arab Emirates.

Today, the Ministry of International Cooperation announced the completion of procedures for handing over the former headquarters of the Ministry in the downtown area of Cairo, to become a temporary headquarters for the Arab Court of Arbitration, after the Ministry moved to its new headquarters in the New Administrative Capital, within the framework of presidential directives to enhance joint Arab action and support economic integration.

In implementation of the directives of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, President of the Arab Republic of Egypt, to strengthen joint Arab action, and in implementation of the decision of the Presidency of the Council of Ministers issued last August, the Ministry of International Cooperation completed the handover ceremony of the former headquarters of the Ministry located in the downtown area, to become the temporary headquarters of the Arab Court of Arbitration, until the permanent headquarters of the court is prepared in the City of Justice in the New Administrative Capital.

The Ministry of International Cooperation recently held a high-level roundtable to launch the first follow-up progress report on the NWFE program, presenting the progress achieved in the water, food, energy and sustainable transport sectors, and the joint coordination efforts that took place across the year with multilateral and bilateral development partners, government entities, the private sector, and global alliances in the field of climate action.
