The Minister of International Cooperation H.E. Dr. Rania A. Al-Mashat participates in the opening of the tenth session of the Arab-China Business Conference in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia on June 11 and 12, under the auspices of Prince Mohammed Bin Salman, the Saudi Crown Prince, with the participation of delegations from 23 Arab countries along with a delegation from the Republic of China, to discuss prospects and opportunities for economic cooperation and joint investment.

The Ministry of International Cooperation Begins Preparatory Meetings at the Expert Level for the 2nd Session of the Egyptian-Iraqi Joint Committee in Cairo
In continuation of efforts to develop joint Egyptian-Iraqi relations, in implementation of the directives of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, President of the Arab Republic of Egypt, preparatory meetings at the expert level for the second session of the Egyptian-Iraqi joint committee, headed by the Ministry of International Cooperation from the Egyptian side, and the Ministry of Trade from the Iraqi side, starts today in Cairo.

The Minister of International Cooperation H.E. Dr. Rania A.Al-Mashat announced that in light of the Government of Egypt’s vision to strengthen economic relations with multilateral and bilateral development partners at the regional and international levels and to mobilize efforts to achieve economic development in all sectors, the Ministry of International Cooperation is developing an integrated framework for development cooperation that acts as an umbrella under which all strategies with multilateral and bilateral development partners are involved. This is a way to enhance integration efforts, maximize the use of development funds in meeting the country’s priorities, stimulate the principles of transparency, inclusiveness and integration, maximize the use of concessional development funds to achieve development, promote climate action and expand mechanisms of private sector support.

The Minister of International Cooperation H.E. Dr. Rania A. Al-Mashat said that the ongoing development cooperation portfolio of the Ministry of International Cooperation includes 169 projects implemented in various development sectors through non-refundable development grants worth $3.4 billion, distributed by 23% for the housing and utilities sector, 15% for scientific research and higher education, 13% for supporting the efficiency of the Government of Egypt’s administrative apparatus, 8% for education and technical education and 41% for other sectors.

The Minister of International Cooperation H.E. Dr. Rania A. Al-Mashat witnessed the graduation of the first batch of the technical support program for the Climate Finance Accelerator (CFA), which includes 8 startups in the field of energy, blue economy, manufacturing and circular economy, agriculture and land use, and waste management. This is in light of the partnership between Egypt and the UK to promote climate action by providing technical assistance and support to startups and environmentally friendly projects.

At the 8th Annual Meetings of the New Development Bank (NDB) of the BRICS bloc, held in Shanghai, China, the Minister of International Cooperation H.E. Dr. Rania A. Al-Mashat met with the Russian Minister of Finance and Governor of Russia at the NDB, Dr. Anton Siluanov, the International Affairs Officer at the Brazilian Ministry of Finance Dr. Tatiana Roseto, and the Minister of Finance and Governor of South Africa at the NDB, Dr. David Masondo. The meetings witnessed discussions on efforts to enhance the exchange of experiences between member countries, the strategic objectives of the NDB and its role in supporting developing countries and emerging economies.

Minister of International Cooperation and Alternate Governor of Egypt at the New Development Bank (NDB) H.E. Dr. Rania Al-Mashat, reviewed the framework of international cooperation and development financing for Egypt, stressing that Egypt's relations with multilateral and bilateral development partners are based on clear and strong foundations and a careful governance structure in order to support development efforts and climate action and stimulating the development vision of Egypt 2030. This is part of Egypt's accession to the list of members of the NDB that stimulates development cooperation efforts, south-south cooperation, joint action mechanisms for the exchange of knowledge, expertise and development experiences in a way that enhances comprehensive and sustainable growth efforts.
