Deputy Secretary-General of the United Nations: Egypt International Cooperation Forum- Egypt ICF fosters joint action to achieve sustainable development
In her virtual speech during the opening remarks of the Egypt- ICF, Ms. Amina J. Mohammed, Deputy Secretary-General of the United Nations and Chair of the United Nations Sustainable Development Group, highlighted the importance of the Forum that aims to transfer knowledge and explore greater opportunities towards leveraging international cooperation in achieving the common goals of countries. This comes in light of the “Egypt - International Cooperation Forum (ICF): Engaging for Impact”, launched this morning under the patronage of H.E. President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, the President of the Arab Republic of Egypt, with high-level international and regional participation. Ms. Mohammed emphasized the importance of international cooperation in providing solutions for countries to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), reduce social inequality, and push the frontiers of human rights. The forum, organized by the Ministry of International Cooperation, took place in the presence of H.E. Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, Egypt’s Prime Minister; H.E. Dr. Rania A. Al-Mashat, Minister of International Cooperation; in addition to a high-level participation of government representatives from African Ministers and policy makers; Presidents of international financial institutions; bilateral and multilateral development partners’ representatives; think tanks; the private sector; and international and regional research centers.
