Ms. Stéphanie Lanfranchi, Director of the AFD Cairo Office, was received by the Minister of Investment and International Cooperation Dr. Sahar Nasr, where the means of joint and potential cooperation between Egypt and France and projects of potential cooperation according to Egyptians’ requirements and the Egyptian government’s current priorities were discussed.
 
At the beginning of the meeting, the Minister laid an emphasis on the Egyptian- French strong relations at all political and economic levels, which serve as a solid basis for opening up new horizons of bilateral cooperation in various fields. 
 
Both sides discussed the preparations for the visit of  Ms. Laurence Breton-Moyet, Director of Operations at the AFD, on the sidelines of which several agreements in the fields of health, sanitation, transports and energy would be signed, besides celebrating the 10th anniversary of the establishment of the AFD Cairo Office. 
 
The Minister commended the AFD’s role, being the French Government’s financing arm, in enhancing Egyptian- French cooperation relations since the establishment of the AFD Cairo regional office in 2007. She also stated that the AFD contributed to financing several significant projects in Egypt, among of which were the third line of Cairo metro (Phases II and III), financing small and micro enterprises, the household natural gas connection project, and supporting agricultural SMEs, besides improving the water and wastewater services (Phases I and II).
