On 01/01/1976 , Canada has started to cooperate with Egypt.
Relations between both countries started with Canada’s support of Egypt after the Tripartite Aggression on Egypt in 1956 when it participated in the UN Peacekeeping Forces. Within the framework of bilateral, economic and investment relations that extends to over fifty years, several grant and loan agreements were signed as well as aid in the form of food and export commodity agreements, which had a positive impact on increasing job opportunities, fighting unemployment, supporting increased access to good quality basic education and reducing state budget burdens.

Negotiations are in progress for signing several agreements with the Canadian side during the upcoming period.
