On 01/01/1900 , Spain has started to cooperate with Egypt.
Egypt and Spain enjoy close ties based on the mutual desire to push forward relations between both countries on different levels, particularly in the economic field. Bilateral economic cooperation has witnessed significant development owing to the Egyptian Spanish MOU on financial cooperation signed in 2008 worth EUR 250 million, which continues to be in force until 2015. Three development programs estimated at EUR 50.8 million are executed under the MOU framework.
In support of the transition towards democracy following the Egyptian Revolution of 25 January 2011, an agreement was signed with Spain on 3/9/2012 for the provision of a fund worth EUR 1 million for the purchase of computers to be used in parliamentary and presidential elections.
