The Joint Committee between Egypt and Russia

Historical Background

Bilateral and cooperation relations between Egypt and the Russian Federation are organized by the Agreement on Trade and Economic, Scientific and Technical Cooperation (signed in May 1992 by Ministry of Trade and Industry) and the Economic and Technical Cooperation Agreement (signed in November 1994 by the Ministry of International Cooperation). The Agreement stipulates the establishment of a sub-committee from the Trade Commission which is chaired by the Ministry of International Cooperation.

The Commission is co-chaired by Minister of Trade and Industry with the membership of the Ministry of International Cooperation.

Sessions Held

Number of sessions: nine sessions of the Egyptian-Russian Joint Commission were held to date.
The first session was held in Moscow in September 1997.

The ninth session was held in Moscow in March 2014.
 The following deeds were signed:
A Protocol was signed in Moscow in March 2014. It encompassed cooperation in the following fields:   trade, industry, investment, banking, telecommunications, infrastructure, environment, oil and gas, transport, agriculture and irrigation.
