On 17 December 2015, MOIC hosted a workshop for the implementing units of Egypt's projects financed by the African Development Bank (AfDB) in presence of AfDB's Resident Representative in Egypt Ms. Leila Mokadem, AfDB's team work, and all representatives of the project's governmental implementing agencies, besides MOIC officials.
Dr Sahar declared that AfDB approved the Egypt-AfDB new cooperation strategy (2015-2019). She asserted that MOIC was keen on including the government's priorities within the said strategy, which is expected to finance projects in all sectors with approximately USD 3b compared to the current total portfolio worth USD 1.8b.
Talking to representatives of the project's implementing units, the Minister pointed out that it was essential to implement projects in a timely manner and to make disbursements from proceeds of loans and grants promptly in order to realize optimum benefit from these funds. At the end, the Minister wished success for all projects to serve the citizens' interests.
On his part, Ms. Mokadem delivered a speech, noting that AfDB was committed to supporting Egypt and to provide all possible assistance to ensure the achievement of sustainable development.
